The Rose & Crown, Midhope. Click on a photo to enlarge it and for more information.
At the cross-roads at Midhope, lying at the foot of Sheephouse Heights, this large building used to have stables and cobbled yards back in the days of stagecoaches. Horses were changed and rested here. It was closed on 25th May 1876.
Looking west along Manchester Road towards Midhope crossroads, the building on the right is Lower Hand Bank Farm, formerly the Rose and Crown.
The Rose and Crown is marked on this map.
